Genealogy is an Investigation.
There is no “one size fits all” approach to researching one’s ancestors; every family is different. At Argos Investigations we approach genealogical research as an actual investigation. We start with what you know and what you don’t know: your research questions, the questions you want answered. Using a variety of online and in-person research techniques, we look for relevant information in records, and then analyze that information for evidence to the answers you seek.
Just like in a court of law, the foundation for all genealogical conclusions is evidence. We seek evidence within original documents, not from user-submitted information or trees on the internet. Sometimes evidence is elusive, a “brick wall.” Breaking past a brick wall requires a willingness to look in unconventional places, to collaterally research others to infer relationships or events, and above all, the diligence to stay with it.
At Argos Investigations we bring extensive law enforcement and genealogical research experience to every case and we customize our research services to your individual needs and concerns. The study of kinship and family history is much more than passing down stories, rumors, and the relationships of our ancestors. It is about getting those stories and events right, so they stand up for generations.
